Love Defies Timelines

Author Samuel W. Pullman’s latest work tells the story of an unlikely relationship that challenges expectations about age, connection, and what love is supposed to look like.

[South Florida] Author Samuel W. Pullman announces the release of his latest novel, Love After Heartbreak, a story that explores what happens when two people, separated by decades in age and shaped by very different life experiences, find common ground in each other.

The novel follows James, a 67-year-old widower, and Sarah, a 33-year-old nurse rebuilding her life after addiction and trauma. What begins as a tentative online conversation between two people who simply needed someone to talk to grows into something neither expected: a relationship built on honesty, patience, and a depth of understanding that surprises even them.

Rather than focusing on the age difference as an obstacle, Love After Heartbreak explores what genuinely connects two people: shared pain, mutual respect, and the willingness to be truly known by another person. Through James and Sarah’s relationship, the novel asks readers to consider that love doesn’t always follow a predictable timeline or fit into expected categories.

“I wanted to write a relationship that felt real, not because of the ages involved, but because of how these two people show up for each other,” said Pullman. “Connection doesn’t always look the way we expect it to, and I think there’s something valuable in exploring that.”

Love After Heartbreak invites readers to think differently about what makes a relationship meaningful, and offers a story for anyone who has ever felt like their version of love didn’t fit the mold.

Love After Heartbreak is available now in print and digital formats.
